Morning & Evening Devotions
MORNING
OVER THE EDGE:
Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. (NLT) ( James 1:19 )
Notice how the word “all” is used? No one is immune. It just takes the perfect storm for a personal situation to put you over the edge. Before you feel justified to say something damaging, remember this verse. And if you’re on the receiving end, be “quick” to forgive and “slow” to resent.
EVENING
MERELY LISTENING:
For merely listening to the law doesn’t make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight. (NLT) ( Romans 2:13 )
We can all sit in church and hear God’s word. However, just listening to listen doesn’t make a difference. It is the application into your life of the words you hear. Going to church is not about walking out and feeling good. It is about putting your knowledge into use. This is what makes us right in His eyes. How can you put into practice what God is teaching you lately?
We finished! Yes, finally! I will post pictures tomorrow of the bathroom remodel. Hope all is well for everybody.
As always, Have a blessed day!
